Mrs. Williams Shurden Obituary (1914

Ela Williams Shurden, 98, passed away, on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Dugan Memorial Home, in West Point. Ela Pauline Shurden was born January 6, 1914 in Winston County to the late Laura Jo Rivers Williams and James Lafayette Williams. Ela Williams Shurden was a homemaker, but had worked for West Point Casket and Knickerbocker, MFG. She was a member of Cedar Bluff United Methodist Church. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 9, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Matthew McGrew officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Bluff Cumberland Presbyterian Cemetery Cedar Bluff, Mississippi. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include two daughters, Martha Carol White of Cedar Bluff, and Mary Judice (Jackie) of New Iberia, LA; one son, Murray Noblin, Jr. of West Point; nine grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren; one sister, Vera Harpole of Scooba, MS. She was preceded in death by a daughter Betty Shipman and a son Donald Pearson Watson. Pallbearers will be Rodney White, Ray White, Robbie White, Murray Noblin, III, Heath Pearson, and Keith Pearson. Visitation will be Saturday, 5:00 unitl 8:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
