Siumen Orlando Umana Cubero, "Chumi", 27, of Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood, passed away suddenly March 27, 2023. Born in Costa Rica, Orlando was raised in Connecticut and Cleveland. He earned his Associate’s Degree from Cuyahoga Community College (“Tri-C”) before moving to Chicago almost four years ago. Orlando worked as a skilled technician at Fuji Films, and was also a visual artist and excellent writer. Cherished son of Rebeca (Jose Jaramillo) Umana Cubero of Cleveland and Esteban Orlando (Carla Jara) Reyes of Connecticut. Adored older brother of Esteban Umana Cubero, Valentina Jaramillo, and Brandon Reyes. Memorial gathering Sunday, April 2, 2023, from 3:00PM until 5:00PM at the Center on Halsted 3656 North Halsted Street, Chicago, IL 60613. Gathering will be located on the 3rd floor in the Irving Harris Family Foundation Reception Hall & Richard M. Daley Roof Terrance. Orlando was an organ donor, and several people were given the gift of life through his family’s magnanimous donation.
