Carrollton, Georgia
Shea Andrew Lasseter, known to many as "Hawg," passed away unexpectedly on March 4, 2025, at the age of 41. Born on December 24, 1983, Shea was a beloved husband, father, son, brother, and friend.
As a dedicated lineman with Coweta Fayette EMC, Shea took great pride in his work. He found immense satisfaction in helping restore power, sometimes even providing electricity for the very first time. His commitment to his job was a reflection of his strong work ethic and desire to help others.
Shea was an outstanding athlete, especially known for his passion for baseball. Though he loved playing the game, nothing brought him more joy than watching his children, Tyler and Makenlie, play and excel on the field. His love for sports extended to his support of the Georgia Bulldogs and the Heard County Braves, always cheering on his teams with fervor.
Beyond his professional and athletic endeavors, Shea was an avid hunter, sharing countless adventures with his son Tyler in the woods. His love for the outdoors and his family was evident in every aspect of his life. He was married to Ashley, the love of his life, for 21 years, and they created a beautiful family full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Shea was a man who lived life to the fullest, always seeking new adventures and enjoying time spent with his family, doing whatever made them happy. He was a member of Franklin Church of God, where he found peace and community.
Shea was preceded in death by grandparents, Luther Andrew Lasseter, Sara Hopson Lasseter, Quinard Lee Shelnutt and Erlene Holloway Shelnutt; and father-in-law, Thomas Darrell White.
He is survived by his wife, Ashley Heard Lasseter, and their children, Tyler Lasseter and Makenlie Lasseter; his parents, Benny and Sue Lasseter of Franklin; his brothers, Shane (Nickie) Lasseter and Brian (Charles) Lasseter; brothers-in-law, Corey Heard and Casey White; mother-in-law, Cathy White; and numerous other family members who loved him dearly.
Shea’s spirit, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for his family and friends will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
A funeral service will honor and celebrate Shea’s life on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at 11:00 AM from Glenloch Baptist Church, with Pastor Noel Forrester and Pastor Andrew Owensby officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens, with Jeremy Brown, Pablo Sanchez, Troy Hackney, Jerome Arrington, Andrew Betts, Josh Carroll, Jeremy Crockett, and Todd Huey Sr. serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM and again on Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Glenloch Baptist Church from 10:00 AM until the hour of service.
