Ruben V. Salcido Obituary (1956

Ruben Vigil Salcido, 56, of Boerne, Texas, passed away on June 19, 2013. Visitation will be held at 6:00 p.m. Friday, June 28th, at Vaughan"s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 29th, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah"s Witnesses at 304 North School Street. Brett Fedor will be officiating. Burial will follow the service at Boerne Cemetery at 3:00 p.m. Ruben was born in Carlsbad, New Mexico on November 26, 1956. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1975 and remained in Carlsbad until 2003 when they moved to Boerne. Ruben was married to Anna Marie Gonzalez on November 22, 1975 and they were happily married for 37 years. Ruben worked as a fire fighter / E. M. T. for the City of Carlsbad for over 20 years where he retired as Captain in 1997. He enjoyed golfing and always had a soft spot for all types of animal life. Thus he enjoyed many different types of pets ranging from cats and dogs to ferrets and iguanas. His love for people and appreciation for animal life was fostered by what he learned from the Bible from early childhood as one of Jehovah"s Witnesses. Ruben is survived by his wife, Anna Marie, two sons: Josue and his wife Veronica, and Benjamin, his grandchildren: Davin and Daniella, two brothers: Ramiro and Ernesto Flores, several nieces and nephews and other family and friends. Ruben is preceded in death by his parents: Juan and Elivoria Salcido, and his sister, Elvira Flores.
