Robert Taylor

Robert Joe Taylor, age 79, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025. He was born on August 27, 1945 in Wedowee, Alabama, to the late Beron Taylor and Nancy Gross Cummings.

Robert served his country in the United States Army National Guard. He worked for La-Mar Manufacturing in Bowdon, Georgia until his retirement. He took great pride in his work. His commitment to his job was a reflection of his strong work ethic and desire to help others.

Robert spent his spare time repairing small engines. He enjoyed fixing those broken pieces and making them whole again. He also enjoyed gardening and sharing the fruits of his labor with his neighbors and family members. Robert was a kind husband, a helpful brother, a soft-spoken father, a wonderful grandfather, a loving great-grandfather, and a forever friend.

Robert was preceded in death by wife, Brenda Joyce Taylor; daughter, Christy Taylor; son, Steven Worley; and brother, Rickey Taylor.

He is survived by his son, Marty Worley; grandchildren, Khrysta Morgan, Shandi Jacobs, Kayra Worley, Sawyer Worley, and Ryder Worley; great-grandchildren, Eston Morgan, Connor Morgan, Rylea Jacobs, Harleigh Bagby, and Mason Bagby; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral service will honor and celebrate Robert’s life on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM from the Chapel at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Pastor Ken Bowman officiating. Interment will follow in Carroll Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at Martin & Hightower Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
