CELEBRATION OF LIFE REGINA SMITH October 9, 1962 - November 8, 2022 Funeral Service Sunday, November 20, 2022, 3:00 P.M. Apostolic Tabernacle Church 5547 Calvacade Street Houston, TX 77026 OBITUARY On October 9, 1962, Regina Smith was born to Millie Smith Larson and Charles Edward Cashaw in Houston, Texas. Following school, she went on to study Nursing, Culinary Arts and Medical Assistance graduating with Honors. She was also a full-time Housekeeper. Regina lived to help others and did it with honor and pride. She had one son, Jamaine Banks and three grandchildren; Olivia, Jamaine and a Bonus grandchild, Erica. She loved the three of them very dearly. Regina was an active member at Apostolic Tabernacle for approximately 20 years serving on the Usher and Hospitality Committees. She sang in the choir and also found joy cleaning the church preparing for services. She leaves to cherish her beloved Mother, Millie Larson; her Son, Jamaine Banks; her Siblings, Otis Davis (Ann), Melissa Cashaw, Amanda Cashaw Williams (Bobby), Janie Lombard (Terry), Opal Davis and Genella Clark Davis; along with a host of Nieces, Nephews. Aunts Uncles, Cousins and Friends. Preceeding her in death was her father, Charles Cashaw; sister, Charlotte Blunt; brother Ray Blunt and nephew Alonzo Davis. ORDER OF SERVICE INTERLUDE - A.T. We were so close that sometimes I would accidentally call you my mama and we would crack up laughing. You were my shopping buddy, my laughing buddy, my eating buddy and my singing buddy. You made sure all my bills were paid and my doctor's appointments were met. Oh, I forgot one yesterday. How will I ever be able to do this without you? Well you would say God's got it. I would've preferred to go with you, but your other siblings need me. Rest in the arms of Jesus! I love you! Mom TRIBUTE FROM SON Little did we know that morning that God was going to call your name. In life we loved you dearly. In death we do the same. It broke our hearts to lose you, you did not go alone; for part of us went with you the day God called you home. You left us peaceful memories, your love is still our guide; and though we can not see you, you are always at our side. Our family chain is broken and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again. You were our “Go To” for everything, we would call you for recipes, appointment reminders, directions, local resources etc. Sister, you fought the good fight, you kept the faith and finished the Race. Regina was the soul that made you feel like it was okay to have secrets that you could only tell her without judgement. Regina was the epitome of selfless love. Regina was the person who could play any role in your life, from Sister, Aunt, Mom, caregiver and most of all a friend that you could lean on during your most trying times. We will miss you so much Aunt Regina We are so at peace knowing you'll forever be watching over us and having a ball with God, making him laugh just as you did for us all these years! Got Fog?
