Mother Rattie M. Sanders Obituary (1943

Rattie M. Sanders was called home by the Lord on November 16, 2015 at Franciscan St. Anthony Memorial. Funeral services will be held 11am, Saturday at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Luther Monroe, officiating. Viewing 10am, Saturday at the church until the time of service. Rattie M. Sanders was born June 6, 1943, in Drew, Mississippi, to the late Booker T. Williams and Hattie M. (Moorise) Williams. On May 8, 1962, she united in holy matrimony to the late Robert Sanders Sr. In November of 1967, she moved to Michigan City, where she worked 24 years as a Nanny-Housekeeper for Dr. Phillips E. Hodonos, she later worked as a Professional Cleaner for Don Jones and as a Pressor for Concord Cleaners for many years. She was a member of Rock of Ages Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. George Eckwood for many years; she later became a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Luther Monroe. Mother Sanders was attending school to obtain her GED. She loved God, fishing, gardening, sewing, crocheting, travelling and being with her grandchildren. Rattie M. Sanders leaves to cherish her fond memories, her children, six sons Robert Sanders Jr., R.B. Sanders, Booker T. (Theresa) Sanders, Edward Lee Sanders, Charles (Paula) Sanders and Roy Chester (Cynthia) Sanders; four daughters Dorothy Williams, Mary (Herbert) Sanders, Loretta (Ray) Champlin, Cynthia Sanders; two brothers Nick Williams and Eddie B. Williams; one sister Jackie Williams; special daughters Jacklyn L. Robinson, Alicia Cooper, Shalontee Smith, Shante Gilkie, Gracie Eckwood and Sandra Yanders; god daughter Porche Williams; god son Andrew "Peewee" Eckwood; special friends Mrs. Jackie Cannon and Geraldine Howard; a host of grandchildren,great grandchildren, relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; three daughters Hattie Williams, Bertha Sanders and Georgia Sanders; special daughter Coretta Eckwood; three grandsons Marcus Pryor, Darius Lewis and Sterling Sanders; one granddaughter Dominique Sanders; special friends Rev. George Eckwood and Eartha Eckwood.
