Olugbenga Aleraye Obituary (1972

Olugbenga "Olu" Aleraye, age 48, of Lombard, passed away on December 28, 2020. He was born February 24, 1972 in Lagos, Nigeria to his loving parents, David Aleraye and Comfort Bolatito Ajetonmobi. Olu earned a Bachelor of Science in both Education and Physics in 2003, then went on to earn an MBA in Marketing. Most recently, in April, 2020, he earned his IT Certification. Olu met his wife, Chiquita, on the Plenty of Fish dating website. They were married for 3 short, but wonderful, years. Olu enjoyed cooking, singing, joking around, watching boxing matches, and teaching. He was a brilliant man who left an impact on everyone he met. He was a very hard worker, and always put others first. He loved, and was greatly loved by, his family and friends. Loved ones will remember the moments he planted in their lives. His family prays that all those planted moments will help them on their journey through life. Olu was preceded in death by his mother, Comfort Aleraye. He is survived by his wife, Chiquita Crawford-Aleraye; children, Daniel, April, and Julia; stepchildren, Devonte, Charisma (Jovon), and Torian; father, David Aleraye; siblings, Elizabeth Aleraye, Olusegun Aleraye, Maria Olagbaye, and Odeyemi Dare; grandchildren, J'lahni Wallace and J'Ari Wallace; aunt, Tonia Ogunribido; cousins, Xtiana Olarinde, Mary Olowookere, and Debby Ogunribido; nephew, Emmanuel Olagbaye; and nieces, Elizabeth Olagbaye and Esther Olagbaye. Visitation will be 10:30am until funeral service at 1:00pm, Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120. Mourners are encouraged to review the funeral home COVID-19 public health policies ahead of time. Face masks are required to enter the facility.
