Mrs. Nell Watson Valentine Obituary (1934

Mrs. Nell Watson Valentine, 82, passed away on February 10, 2017, at her daughter's home in Clinton. Mrs. Nell was born on August 16, 1934, in Pheba, the daughter of the late Oscar Lee and Evie Ophelia McDougal Watson. Mrs. Nell was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. Mrs. Nell was an avid gardener. Mrs. Nell worked at Babcock and Wilcox as a Keypunch Operator. She also did clerical work at Watkins, Ward, and Stafford and was the Bookkeeper at Kellogg's Hardware. She married Hugh Monroe Valentine on May 30, 1958, in West Point and he preceded her in death on 1997. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister: Helen Watson, 2 brothers: Charles and James Watson and a sister-in-law: Iness Watson. Funeral services will be Monday, February 13, 2017, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Chris Layton officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her daughter, Shirley V. Carr (Jimmy) of Clinton; Her grandson, Matt Carr (Kellie) of Seattle, WA; Two brothers, Oliver Lee Watson of West Point and Thomas "Buddy" Watson of Baton Rouge, LA; and a Sister-In-Law: Shirley Watson of West Point. Pallbearers will be Matt Carr, Gene Allen Sanders, Chris Watson, Kenny Ingram, Mark Randle and Dustin Randle. Honorary Pallbearers will be her friends in the Lakeshore Subdivision, The Nurses and Staff of North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point, and Kindred Care Hospice of Flowood.
