Navjot Singh Jassal, born June 14, 1951, in New Delhi, India, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family. Navjot, a name that means "New Light" in Punjabi, truly lived up to its meaning, illuminating the lives of all who knew him. He was the son of the late Kashmira Singh Jassal and the late Ajitinder Kaur Jassal. Navjot spent his formative years in the vibrant neighborhood of Gole Market, where he built lifelong friendships and cherished memories. He loved kayaking, playing marbles and guli danda, kite flying, and both playing and watching cricket. Among his cherished memories were the years spent working in Karnal, India, where he found camaraderie, shaping his outlook on life and adding to his resilience and warmth. In 1982, Navjot immigrated to the Bronx, NY, in pursuit of a better life for his family. His career spanned several decades, with notable tenures at Corporate Express and later Encon, from which he retired in 2020. His work ethic was unparalleled, often taking on multiple jobs to ensure his family's security and comfort. Navjot's life was a testament to the values he held dear: generosity, compassion, and the importance of helping others. He derived joy from life's simple pleasures—watching sunsets, tending to his garden, and tracking his steps on his Fitbit. Family gatherings were the highlight of his life, filled with laughter, stories, and his renowned grilling. He had a passion for gardening, puzzle-solving, and cooking, which he lovingly passed on to his children. Navjot is survived by his beloved wife, Davinder Kaur Jassal; his daughter, Manpreet Kaur Jassal; two sons, Amandeep Singh Jassal and Hardeep Singh Jassal; his brothers, Malvinder Singh Jassal, Harvinder Singh Jassal, and late brother, Tejinder Singh Jassal; his step-brother, Manjit Singh; and his sisters, Ravinder Kaur Puri and Harsharan Kaur Kainth.
