Mildred Omega Smith was born on May 2, 1927 to Reverend Blante and Nell Smith. She married her true love, Fred Schaerdel, on July 24th, 1948. Before her marriage to Fred she also modeled for Mayfair Department Store. During World War II she worked as Rosie the Riveter to support our troops while her husband Fred was supporting our country. \n\nHer life was mostly devoted to her beloved Fred, and their children, Linda, Nancy, and Christy. She cherished her 12 Grandchildren, and 17 Great Grandchildren, and had over 60 family members. She loved them all. She had a big heart and love for everyone, but she was especially grateful for her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. \n\nMildred was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in 1948 and transferred to Zion Lutheran in 1986. She was always active in the church and had a special fondness for her church friends. It was a major part of her life. \n\nWe will miss her and will celebrate her beautiful life. \n\nMemorials can be made to Zion Lutheran Church.
