Mrs. Marsha Atkins Ray Obituary (1959

Mrs. Marsha Atkins Ray, 56, passed away on May 13, 2016, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mrs. Marsha was born July 6, 1959, in West Point, the daughter of Lee Roy and Carolyn Ann Turner Atkins, Sr. She was a member of West End Baptist Church in West Point. She was a strong courageous woman who fought a good fight. She was 56 years young and loved the Lord. Marsha was loved by many and touched many lives throughout her life. She especially loved her little babies and their families at First Baptist Church Early Childhood Ministry. She loved spending time with her granddaughters. She was a true example of a Proverbs 31 woman and tried to exemplify Christ everywhere she went. Marsha was very strong in her faith and loved sharing her love for the Lord with others. She married Curtis Lee Ray, Jr. on June 26, 1978, in West Point, and he passed away July 14, 2004. Funeral services will be Sunday, May 15, 2016, at 3:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dale Funderburg officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her Daughter, Rachel Marie Ray of West Point; Her Two Sons, Curtis Lee Ray, III (Lauren) of Louisburg, KS and Christopher Adam Ray (Brittaney) of West Point; Two Granddaughters: Kimber Grace Ray and Willow Claire Ray both of West Point; Parents: Lee Roy and Carolyn Turner Atkins, Sr. of West Point; Her Sister, Donna Atkins of West Point; Her Brother, Chip Atkins (Kinta) of West Point; Two Nieces: Kelsey Bercegeay (Clint) of Gonzales, LA, and Shay Atkins of West Point; and Father-in-Law and Mother-in-Law: Curtis and Kathleen Ray, Sr. of West Point. Pallbearers will be Christopher Adam Ray, Chip Atkins, Jerry Adamec, Tom Ross, Kenneth Walls, Chris Craven, Mark Huffman, and Tony Turner. Honorary Pallbearers will be Randy Craven, Junior Ray, Michael Doss, Kelli Mowry, Cindy Blaine, Dr. Kenneth Harvey, Dr. Lee Greer, Bobbie Sanders, CNFP, Harvest Worker Sunday School Class at West End Baptist Church, Nurses and Staff of the North Mississippi Medical Center Inpatient Hospice Unit, and the Staff of First Baptist Church Early Childhood Ministry.
