Mrs. Margie Maxine Pettit Harden Obituary (1930

Mrs. Margie Maxine Pettit Harden, 86, passed away on May 26, 2016, at Floy Dyer Nursing Home in Houston. Mrs. Margie was born in Houston the daughter of the late Perry James and Sybil Walters Pettit. She was a lifelong beautician owning and operating Jean and Margies Beauty Shop in West Point. Mrs. Margie believed in hardwork. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in West Point. Mrs. Margie enjoyed her flowers. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, and friend. She was preceded in death by her first husband William Thomas Duncan, who passed away in September 1947. She then married Walter Evans Harden on April 16, 1949, in Pontotoc and he passed away July 5, 2002. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter: Sheila Waites; Her Son: Gary Wayne Harden; Her Grandson: John Wesley Harden; and by Her Two Brothers: Kenneth and Gordon Pettit. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 28, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. from Calvary Baptist Church in West Point with Reverend Roy Myers officiating and assisted by Dr. James Towery. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Her Two Sons, William Clovis Duncan (Gayle) of West Point and Ronald Evans Harden of Forney, Texas; Six Grandchildren; William Thomas "Tommy" Duncan (Alisa) of West Point, Mamie Jeniece Osburn (Jason) of West Point, Michael Evans Harden (Ginger) of West Point, Jason Douglas Harden of Centerville, TN, Mark Glasson (Candace) of Killen, AL, and Wendy Housley (Kevin) of Fayetteville, Ark; Fourteen Great Grandchildren and Two Great-Great Grandchildren; One Sister, Ludeen Vaughn of Houston; One Brother, James Quentin Pettit (Martha) of Houston; and Son-in-Law: James Waites of Water Valley Pallbearers will be Tommy Duncan, Todd Duncan, Ethan Duncan, Peyton Duncan, Michael Harden, Jason Harden, Mark Glasson, Ronnie Robinson, and Jason Osburn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Her Many Clients that she served through her beauty shop, Jean and Margies, and her Caregivers: Ella Brownlee and Ruth Quinn.
