Malika Rogers Obituary (1986 - 2024) - Washington Township, New Jersey

Malika Genise Rogers, daughter of Malik Lucas and Tammy G. Rowe, was born December 3, 1986, in Philadelphia, PA. Malika was a student at the New Jersey Schools System and of the School District of Philadelphia in Philadelphia, PA where she graduated from the Northeast High School in Philadelphia. Prior to her graduating from Northeast High School, Malika attended her Senior Prom. After moving back to New Jersey, Malika attended various day programs in New Jersey, where she was very well-liked and made lots of friends. Malika was easy-going who really loved being around her family. Malika treasured the simple things her life granted her; eating her meals with her Mom at their dining table, spending time with her Granny and enjoying hearing her Granny’s voice through the telephone, visiting with her Aunt Sabrina and her dog named Blue. Malika loved when the family would get together during holidays and birthday celebrations. She was excited to attend her day program at Holy Dell before covid and made lots of friends. Malika was excited taking day trips with her Mom, she would dance in her seat and clap her hands at times to her favorite Praise songs. Being out in the community was also Malika’s favorites, making new friends at her art class at the YMCA, enjoying touring New Jersey via NJ Para-Transit bus while sitting with her legs crossed. Cherry Hill Mall was one of Malika’s favorite malls to visit. Malika also enjoyed her hair appointments with Jimmy. Malika loved the Lord God, Malika loved the things of God; attending church, attending Bible study, attending Holy Convocation, going to praise concerts or anything else that had to do with being in the Presence of the Lord and Malika loved people. When Malika was younger, she had (what we her family called) a “hugging ministry”, she would hug anyone and everyone she encountered. Malika loved to hear the Bible being read to her and old hymns being sung to her by her Mother (she thought that was funny). Malika was a loving-remarkable young lady. Prior to Malika’s passing she enjoyed attending noonday prayer at Faith, Hope and Love Church in Philadelphia, she was so excited during prayer. The Lord God prepared Malika to meet him face-to-face. Malika will be greatly missed by not only her family but many other people.
