Macaria Gorrosquieta Ancelmo Obituary (1941

Macaria Gorroquieta Ancelmo, age 82, of Elgin, IL, passed away on December 28, 2023. She was born January 2, 1941 in Otlatepec, Tlalchapa, Guerrero, Mexico to her loving parents, Luciano Gorrosquieta Yanes and Petra Ancelmo Rivera. Macaria met her husband Margarito De La Paz in a little village called Agua del Padre. They were married for 60 years before his passing in 2015. Together they raised six children. Macaria was a strong, hardworking woman. She was very strict with her children, but also very loving to them and to her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She loved working in the fields and taking care of farm animals. Macaria was a tea person. She drank all kinds of tea to promote good health. If anyone came to visit her at tea time, they had to drink a cup of tea with her. Macaria was preceded in death by her husband, Margarito De La Paz. She is survived by her children, Natalio, Ricardo, Abel, Leticia, Patricia, and Beatriz; siblings, Agustin, Jacinto, Teresa, Patricia, Tomasa, Concepcion, Elvira, Elvia, and Juana; grandchildren, Itzel, Eric, Laura, Jesus Jr., Alfonso, Aracely, Stefanie, Abel Jr., Christopher, Dalila, Isaac, and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00pm to 9:00pm, with prayers at 7:30pm, Friday, January 5, 2023 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park Street, Elgin, IL 60120.
