K. Wayne Read Obituary (1934 - 2024) - Lake Havasu City, Arizona

Kenneth Wayne Read, Wayne to everyone, passed away on Saturday, April 13th, 2024. He was 89 years old, born October 29th, 1934, in Lemmon, South Dakota to Leo and Dorthy Read. He was raised in Idaho and joined the United States Army in 1952, stationed at Fort Bragg in South Carolina, became a paratrooper, and was credited with over 100 jumps. Wayne moved to Lake Havasu City in 1965 to work for Robert P. McCulloch and Robert McCulloch, Jr. He worked under Bob Sisson drawing architectural plans and was an associate of Dann Mallec for several years. He began building Spec Homes in the mid 1980’s under the company name of Ventures Quality Homes until he retired in 1996. He enjoyed designing and creating unique wood carpentry and beautiful oil paintings. He will always be missed and forever in our hearts. Wayne is survived by his wife, Dawn Haigh-Read; his three daughters, Tammy, Dorothy, and Victoria; stepdaughters Cathy and Susan; his stepson Derek (Julie) and stepdaughter Hope; brother-n-law Don Reece; 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and several cousins.
