Kathryn Tyson Obituary (2025)

Kathryn A. Tyson, age 58, of Chilton, died on Monday, May 12, 2025, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. She was born November 13, 1966, daughter of the late Norman and Marie (von Rohr) Nehmer. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Tyson, on March 23, 1985, and they had three children. Kathryn was a rather shy person, but was always willing to help others. That led her into healthcare and she worked as a CNA most of her adult life. Her family meant everything to her. She enjoyed her “Sister Trips” across the country and getaways to Door County, but most of all she loved being a grandma. Kathryn is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her children: Kourtney (Dalton) Payne and Kenny Tyson, Jr.; grandchildren: Scarlett Tyson, Pirelli, Kash and Greyson Payne; sisters: Patti (Bob) Rieder and Nancy (John) Schmitz; Ken’s parents: William and Joyce Tyson; in-laws: Bill (Shelly) Tyson, Tina (Ron) Mueller, and Tami (Randy) Goeser; and many nieces and nephews along with two special friends and coworkers: McKayla and Tammy. Kathryn was preceded in death by her son: Kyle Tyson; her parents: Norman and Marie; and her beloved dog: Sadie. A funeral service will be held at 7:00 pm on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton. Friends may call from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the funeral home before service starts. Kathryn will be laid to rest at 11:00 am on Tuesday, May 20, at Hillside Cemetery in Chilton. The family would like to give special thanks to the St. Elizabeth Hospital, Darcy and the oncology staff, the staff at Edenbrook in Appleton, and the Ascension therapy department in Chilton.
