Judy Gilley Ward

Judy A. Gilley Ward, age 74, of Jackson, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2024. Judy was born on October 22, 1950 in Atlanta, Georgia, the daughter of the late Claude Henry Gilley and Claudine Meek Gilley.

Judy worked for Far West Trucking for over twenty-seven years and enjoyed seeing the countryside around her. She was a devoted Christian and was a member of Sunrise Baptist Church. She was a wonderful mother, outstanding sister, and a compassionate grandmother. Her family and friends will miss her tremendously.

In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Alien Gilley Waters and a brother, Jerry Claude Gilley.

Survivors include her sons, Ted (Kristy) Ray and Robert (Vaughn) Ray; sister, Brenda Leigh Gilley McDaniel (Chris Rowell); grandchildren, Matthew Denney, Meagan Shafford, and Wesley Denney; 5 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held to honor and celebrate Judy’s life on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 2:00 PM from Kansas Baptist Church, with Pastor Josh Boatright officiating. The family will receive friends at Kansas Baptist Church on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 1:30 PM until the hour of service.
