Jose Angel Santana, Jr.

Mr. Jose Angel Santana, Jr., age 73 of Carrollton, Georgia, formerly of Bronx NY, New York, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022. He was born July 27, 1949, in Ponce, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Jose and Enriqueta Santana.

Jose served his country in the United States Army and was deployed to Iraq during Desert Storm. He served for 20 years until he retired as an E-5 Sergeant. He then came home to serve his community for 25 years as a mechanic at Rikers Island, until his retirement in 2009. He was a member of American Legion Post 620 in Bronx NY, New York. Jose was the rock of his family and he will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Carlos Santana, and sister, Miriam Santana Pabon.

He is survived by his children: Arlene & (Joseph) Williams, Jose Santana, III, Carlos Santana, Luz Delgado, Zulma Castellanos, Javier Castellanos, Michael Knapp, and Jose Rivera; sisters: Nereida Meadows and Milagros Santana; brothers: Pedro Mercado and Raymond Mercado; and eleven grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, September 3, 2022, at 3:00 PM from Martin & Hightower Heritage Chapel. Interment will follow in West Georgia Memorial Park with the United States Army rendering military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM until the time of service.
