It is with a heavy heart that I, Theresa, share the news of the passing of a remarkable Rottweiler, Joos Martinez, known affectionately as Juju B, The Jooj, Red, and Baba boy. Born on May 26, 2011, Joos was a beacon of loyalty, courage, charisma, and love. His zest for life was infectious, and his loyalty to his family was unparalleled. He was a gentle giant, protective of his loved ones, and showed his love with a grumble saying, "I wuff wu." His courage was evident in the show ring, where he held his head high, strutted with confidence, and let other dogs know he was the one to beat. Joos was an avid conformation show dog, a member of the Mount Ogden Kennel Club and the American Rottweiler Club. He enjoyed long walks with his family, playing ball, and fishing with his human brothers, Kristian and Branden Martinez. He had a passion for life, and his charisma shone through when he was out in the world, showcasing his skills. Joos won many Best of Breed, Best of Opposite Sex and 1st & 2nd place ribbons both in the AKC and UKC shows. He was a GCH and CH show dog with the AKC and UKC. He earned his obedience certificate and canine good citizenship certificate, and he was Al Martinez's cherished veteran emotional support dog. Joos lived a fulfilling life, from New York to Clinton, Utah, and later Hooper, Utah, always making each place feel like home. His family, including his mother Theresa and other family members, were the pillars of his life. He was a cuddle bug at home and loved nose snuggles more than anything. As he aged, he remained a goofy, playful spirit, especially after his baths, embodying the heart of a 2-year-old, despite his 14-year-old body. As John Grogan once said, "Such short little lives our pets have to spend with us, and they spend most of it waiting for us to come home each day." Joos was always there, waiting for his loved ones to return home, eager for their love and companionship. Joos's life was a testament to his strength, charisma, and the unending love he gave and received. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
