Jason Ricketts Obituary (2024)

Greetings, dear friends and family. This is Jason Ricketts, or as many of you affectionately knew me as Vorhees, Slasher, Typical baby boy, or Monster, reaching out from across the veil. I've always been a fan of that quote, "Do not take life too seriously, you will never get out of it alive," and now it seems more apt than ever. I've lived my life with an adventurous spirit, and even now, I wouldn't have it any other way. I was a cat of simple pleasures, and my hobbies reflected that. Sleeping, boxing, and trying to scare people were the main passions of my life. Yes, I was a bit of a prankster, always trying to get a laugh out of people, especially my family who I loved so very much. But remember, as Mark Twain once said, "The human race has one really effective weapon, and that is laughter." I hope I made you laugh, made you smile, brought a bit of lightness to your day. I was always there to greet you when you came home, and I hope those memories of our shared laughter and love continue to bring you joy. As a devoted and loyal family member, I was always there for my human, Tyler Ricketts, and my dear mother, Andee-jo Talmadge. Their love and companionship meant the world to me. I was also quite thoughtful, always considering what I could do to make their day a little brighter. My favorite thing in the world was my boxing. It brought me immense joy and I hope it brought you some amusement as well. In the words of the great Charles Dickens, "No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another." I hope I've been able to lighten your burdens, even if just a little, with my antics and companionship. Life is a grand adventure, and I am grateful I got to spend mine with all of you.
