Halcyone “Carla” Greene Obituary (1961

Halcyone "Carla" Greene, age 57, of Elgin, passed away September 29, 2018 at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago, IL. She was born January 6, 1961 in Ladysmith, WI to her loving parents, Julius Landon and Eulalia Mae Greene (nee Brown). Carla was a longtime member of WorldWide Church of God Northwest, Arlington Heights. She earned her Associates Degree in Arts from Elgin Community College and worked as receptionist for various companies including Health professions department at Elgin Community College Carla was a devoted grandmother who enjoyed having her grandchildren visit. She treasured time with family and talking to old friends. Carla had an infectious laugh that always brought a smile to your face. In her free time, she enjoyed to knit, crochet, and paint, among other arts and crafts. Also jewelry making. Carla was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Eulalia; and her sisters Deanna and Rebecca Greene. She is survived by her loving daughter Adriana (Erick) Miranda; siblings Denise Greene, Faron (Kelly) Greene, Laginncya (Bobby) Allen, and Jerome (Billie) Greene; her beloved grandchildren Vincent, Mariana and Rosario; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 10:00a.m. until time of service at 11:00a.m. Saturday October 13, 2018 at Symonds-Madison Funeral Home, 305 Park St., Elgin IL 60120, Pastor James Newby officiating.
