It is with profound sorrow that Kari announces the passing of her loyal and loving companion, Frank. Known affectionately as Franklin, Frankenstein, Sir Frankster, Fronk, Fronklyn, Frankendoodles, and Franklin D. Roosevelt, Frank departed from this world on May 20, 2025. He was the heart dog of his beloved mama, Kari, and his absence will leave an unfillable void in her heart. Frank was not just a dog; he was the best German Shepherd ever, a statement not made lightly. He was smart, dedicated, and his love for his family knew no bounds. He had a special bond with Grandpa Goff and his boys; KyyRo, Bryker & Trey. An adventurous soul, Frank loved to swim, hike, and especially loved chasing his toys. His happiest moments were the ones he shared with his Mama, always by her side, offering companionship, comfort, and love. As Anatole France once said, "Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened." And indeed, Frank awoke a part of Kari's soul that will forever cherish the memories they created together. Frank was a constant companion to Kari and was by her side which included going to work with her every day at Myers Pets at Peace. The families who have brought their own pets in to be cared for will surely remember being greeted by Frank, as they came in the door. As a typical shepherd, he just had to make his presence known but was then a source of comfort to many who were grieving and experiencing their own sorrow at the loss of their pets. Frank was by his Mom's side for almost everything. He went to football, basketball, and baseball games along with track and field meets, movies, plays, concerts, fireworks shows, award ceremonies, vacations, shopping and too many other things to remember. He was Kari's constant and he loved with absolute unconditional love. In the words of Kari, "There are no adequate words to describe just how much Frank will be missed. He was, truly, the best dog I could ever have asked for. He saved me and loved me unconditionally, and my heart is just broken without him." Frank's legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His spirit will continue to inspire the same loyalty, love, intelligence, and dedication he exhibited every day of his life.
