Evelyn Vera Plunkett

Carrollton, Georgia

Evelyn Vera Plunkett, a beloved mother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 9th, 2026, at the age of 79. She was born on February 20, 1947, in Douglasville, Georgia, to the late Ewell Carl Plunkett and the late Effie Vera Swofford Plunkett.

Evelyn dedicated much of her professional life to the retail industry, notably as the store manager of Last Chance Thrift Store in Austell, Georgia. Her warm spirit and gentle demeanor touched the lives of many, exemplifying kindness and compassion in all her interactions.

Outside of work, Evelyn found joy in being outdoors and created countless memories in her yard with her beloved dog, Porky. She was an avid gospel music enthusiast, often singing and dancing to the melodies that brought joy and comfort to her heart.

In addition to her passion for music, Evelyn was a gifted artist whose creativity manifested in beautifully intricate drawings and the depth of her writing. Her artistic expressions reflected her loving spirit and ability to find beauty in the world around her.

In addition to her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sisters: Sarah Estelle Plunkett and Cora Nell Tush; and her brothers: Marvin Carl Plunkett, Thomas Swofford Plunkett, and John David Plunkett.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Heather Estelle Cranford, and son-in-law, Carlton Scott Cranford, as well as her sister, Martha Ann Davis. She leaves behind a legacy of joy, love, creativity, and devotion to those she cherished.
