Mr. Edmond B. "Uncle Bubba" Reid, Jr. Obituary (1917

Mr. Edmond B."Uncle Bubba" Reid, Jr., 98, passed away on December 23, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. Mr. Edmond was born July 15, 1917, in Clay County the son of the late Edmond B. and Jessie Lee Sheffield Reid, Sr. He was a lifelong Beef Cattle and Dairy Farmer. He had also worked as a fabric cutter at Knickerbocker Manufacturing in West Point. Additionally, along with his many other talents, he was a carpenter and brick mason. He was a longtime member of Siloam Baptist Church. He married Emma Lou Gallop on August 24, 1940, in Montpelier, and she passed away April 6, 1995. Funeral services will be Sunday, December 27, 2015, at 2:00 P.M. from Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Payton Myers officiating and assisted by Reverend Doran Henry. Burial will follow in Cairo Cemetery near Cedar Bluff. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include Niece: Kitty Elliott Murks (Wayne) of Covington, LA; Great Niece: Allison Elliott Sackett (Darren) of Huntsville, AL; Great Nephew: Justin Elliott (Jamie) of Starkville; Sister-in-Law: Almarene Gallop Waldon of Millport, AL; Caregivers: Sandra J. Murphy of Caledonia, Susan J. Elliott of Cedar Bluff, and Mary Morgan of West Point; and Numerous Other Nieces and Nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and Three Great Great Nieces and One Great Great Nephew. Pallbearers will be Darren Sackett, Wayne Murks, Justin Elliott, James Murphy, Douglas Reeves, Russell Reeves, Benjy Jones, and Audron Waldon. Honorary Pallbearers will be Coy Gaskin, Butch Blake, and the Men's Sunday School Class at Siloam Baptist Church.
