Claudette Elouise “Purple” Malone of Middletown, N.Y. was born on Tuesday March 26, 1957 to Audrey K. Rhymer and George E. Malone on the beautiful Island of St. Thomas, United States Virgin Islands. Claudette’s heart was pure and anyone that graced her presence was blessed with her love. She took care of everyone around her no matter what was needed. Whether it was a letter, a reference, information, a prayer or a plate of food, she gave relentlessly. Claudette was your resourceful neighborhood go to girl. She moved with style and pattern and left her mark wherever she went. An overall awesome person. A giver, a lover, a Queen, a Mother. If you know you know! Claudette is predeceased by her parents Audrey Rhymer and Robert Malone, her sister Lynette Rhymer, her beloved nephews Akeem and Kenyatte, and her dear friend and bonus daughter Tia Knight. She is survived by her sisters Annette Rattray, Deborah Rhymer and Delta Malone and her brother Kenneth Rhymer. Her children Shawn Martin, Ashakii Gumbs, Knikia Gumbs and Khymo Gumbs. Her daughter-in-law Katie Gumbs. Her grandchildren Tyrell Martin, Tania Martin, Z’Quan Steeps, Khyla Gumbs, Nariyah Nelson, Laniyah Nelson, Jase McGinnis, Jasiah McGinnis, Kamerah Gumbs, Khyrie Martin, Khymo Gumbs Jr. and Kassidy Martin. She is also survived by her nieces Shulyn, Shirlyn, Ayanna, Sharifa and Denise and her nephew Duane and all of her beloved great nieces and great nephews as well as her Winner’s Chapel family and friends. Visitation hours will be held on Saturday January 11, 2025 from 2-3 P.M. with Funeral Service at 3 P.M. at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home 33 Railroad Avenue Middletown, N.Y. Bishop Robert Smith will officiate. The service will be livestreamed at the following link: https://my.gather.app/remember/claudette-malone Burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
