Carmen Garcia Obituary (1931 - 2025)

Carmen Garcia, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, of Granbury, Texas, formerly of California, passed peacefully early on March 10, 2025. A committal service will be held in California at a time and date to be announced. Carmen was born on October 25, 1931, in El Paso, Texas to the late Roberto and Carman Solano. Carmen married Anthony Garcia and together they had three children, Audrey, Edward and Marc. She worked for many years for the Los Angeles Unified School District and later for the KLCS – the Los Angeles Department of Education TV station. Carmen was a person of deep Christian faith and was a member Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California. Carmen served as Cub Scout Den Mother for her sons. Carmen will affectionately be remembered for her sense of humor, her generosity, and for her hospitality and cooking. Most of all, Carmen will be remembered for the loving devotion she had for her family. Carmen is survived by her children, Audrey Van Vliet, Edward Garcia and wife Marianne Soda, and Marc and wife Susan Garcia; her grandchildren, Sarah, Becky, Elizabeth and Michael; great-grandchildren, Kaleb, Katie, Noah, Abigail, Wyatt, Isaiah; her ‘favorite’ grandson, Isaac Gordon; and by her brother, Danny Sailors. In addition to her parents, Carmen was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Garcia and by her sister, Angela.
