Farmers Branch, Texas
Carl Eugene Edmiston, of Farmers Branch, Texas, died on December 6, 2021, his life was taken too soon in a fatal shooting. Born in Dallas on July 12, 1967, Carl grew up to be fearless, charismatic, humble, and quick-witted. In some ways a child at heart, Carl had a silly streak. He could make anyone laugh, and had a way of pulling people out of their darkest moments. A man of action, Carl was always ready to jump in and help anyone who needed it. He was the kind of person who never met a stranger, only people he didn’t know yet.
Carl had four children. The first, Rochelle, was born in 1986. In 1991, Carl married the love of his life, Michelle Lenea. Although they later divorced, their bond and love for each other remained strong, and Carl always thought of her as his soulmate. Cody was born in 1992, Jordyn followed in 1994, and Jacob, the baby of the family, was born in 2004. If you asked what accomplishment he was most proud of, he’d reply: the title “Dad.” He often said his children were his greatest blessing, and the one thing he got right in life. “Y’all are all God,” he would tell his kids.
Carl became a “Gampa” in August 2018 when his first grandchild, Daniel, was born. Two more grandchildren, Chase and Olivia, joined the family in August 2021. Carl was the best grandpa, and anyone could see the unadulterated love and joy he had when playing with his grandchildren. That is how he would most want to be remembered: playing with them in the park.
Carl is survived by his wife, Michelle Edmiston; his daughters, Rochelle Traugott and Jordyn Rosas; his sons, Cody Edmiston and Jacob Edmiston; his mother, Joyce; his sister, Angel; his grandchildren, Chase, Daniel Jr., and Olivia; his nephews, Ryan and Jeff; and his nieces, Rachel and Kimberlee. Carl was preceded in death by his brothers, Mack Allen and Rayford.
A ceremony for Carl will be held at Merit Memorial, 12801 N. Stemmons Freeway #803, on December 18; the viewing will be from 10:30am to 12:00pm, with a funeral service to follow. The family welcomes any expressions of condolences.
