Bobby Joe Morris

Mr. Bobby Joe Morris, age 84, a lifelong resident of Temple, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2024. He was born on July 19, 1940, the son of the late Robert “Olin” Morris and Dicie Robinson Morris.

Bobby proudly served his country in the United States Navy for four years, dedicating himself to the principles of duty and honor. After his military service, he transitioned to a rewarding career at Lockheed, where he made significant contributions over an impressive 38-year tenure before retiring.

In his free time, Bobby enjoyed hunting and was recognized as a gun and bow enthusiast. He and his son, Andrew, attended countless archery tournaments together.

He had a loving nature and embodied the roles of a devoted husband, nurturing father, supportive brother, and loyal friend. His Christian faith played a significant role in his life, especially during his final days on Earth. His presence left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary Beth Morris, and brother, Harold Baltimore.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his children, Andrew Morris (Sylvia Morris), and Cheryl Simpson (Robert Wise); sister, Doris King; brother, Richard Morris (Sandra Morris); grandchildren, Barry James Steele Jr. (Bernadette Hunter), Samantha Nicole Steele (William Walters), Maria Griffis, Tammy Evans, Phyllis Castle and Rhonda Huckeba; fourteen great-grandchildren; eleven great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held to honor and celebrate Bobby’s life on Saturday, December 7, 2024, at 1:00 PM from the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home, with Reverend Neil Awbrey officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until the hour of service.
