Bernice A. Schneider, age 89, of Valders, was called home to be with the Lord on, on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at Aurora Medical Center, in Two Rivers. She was born November 10, 1932 in New Holstein, daughter of the late Clarence & Ovila (Rautmann) Meyer. Bernice married Ellwood Schneider on August 22, 1953 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in Collins where they remained lifelong members.\n\nShe graduated from beautician school and worked for some time in that profession before transitioning to the Valders Telephone Company and later became a smiling face at the Valders grocery store until she retired. \n\nAs a lifelong member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Collins, Bernice devoted time to the education of the youth through the Sunday School Program, and belonged to the Ladies Society. \n\nShe enjoyed following the Milwaukee Brewers and loved to attend Green Bay Packer Training Camps to get a glimpse of what the season ahead may hold. Bernice tended to her flower gardens, looked forward to card games with family and friends, but above all of the blessings in her life, she cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. \n\nShe is survived by her children: Steven (Lynn) Schneider, Nancy Kendzior; 5 grandchildren: Kristin (Ryan) Keller, Chad (Lauren) Schneider, Brian Kendzior, Amanda Kendzior, Sarah Kendzior; 4 great grandchildren: Paityn Schneider, Eden Keller, Declan & Cecilia Schneider; a brother: Allen Meyer; and sisters-in-law: Sally Meyer & Lois Lambries. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. \n\nBernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Ellwood; a son-in-law: Gerald Kendzior; her siblings: Lloyd (Doris) Meyer, Joyce (Hank) Voigt, Gene Meyer, Marjorie (Ronald) Brueckman; and her siblings-in-law: Harvey (Betty) Schneider, Clarmont Schneider, Lila Schneider, Lucille (Elwood) Wenzel, Gaylord Lambries, Gladys Meyer & Orville Schneider. \n\nFuneral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at St. Peter Lutheran Church (2501 Collins Rd. Chilton, Wisconsin 53014) in Collins with Rev. Joel Jaeger officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Peter Lutheran Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 9:00 am until 10:45 am on Thursday, July 14, 2022. \n\nBernice’s family would like to thank everyone at Sylvan Crossings Nursing Home in Manitowoc, and the kind staffs of both the Aurora Medical Center and the Aurora Hospice for all of the loving care that was given to both Bernice and her family.
