Mr. "Skinny" Rhea Obituary (1937

Bennon M. "Skinny" Rhea, 75, passed away, on Friday, April 5, 2013 at Community Hospice-Darlington Oaks, in Verona, MS. He was born August 18, 1937 in Chickasaw County to late Lucille Griffin and Thomas Jefferson Rhea. He was a truck driver for Chemical Waste Management for 10 years and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church A Veteran of the U. S. Air Force having served during Korean War. Bennon Mayo Rhea married Linda Ivey Rhea July 2, 1977, in Clay County. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jason Mayo Rhea, sister Charlotte Posey, and brother Jimmy Rhea Funeral services will be Monday, April 8, 2013, 1:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Steve Lampkin officiating. Burial will follow in Macedonia Cemetery near Houston. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include his Wife Linda Ivey Rhea of Cedar Bluff; one daughter, Martha Poss of West Point; two sons, Bill Pointer (Michelle) of Caledonia, and Jimmy Pointer of Gulfport; 11 grandchildren; Magean Poss, Toni White, Summer Paige Pointer, Brooke Watson, Matthew Pointer, Ty Stephens, Warren Watson, Darren Pointer, Jacob Pointer, Max Rhea, and Caine McLeod; two great grandchildren, Jalen Poss and Chandler Quick; one sister, Alice Faye Griffin (Paul) of Calhoun City. Pallbearers will be Ashley Poss, Bill Pointer, Jimmy Pointer, Kenny Chandler, Johnny Poss, and Danny Ivey. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bert Brand, Dicky Haga, Paul Griffin, Dr. Edmund A. Miller, Jr., and all his friends at Cathy's Restaurant. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Cemetery Care Fund, c/o Billy P. Griffin 303 CR 166, Houston, MS 38851. Visitation will be Sunday, 4:00 p.m. unitil 7:00 p.m. at Calvert Funeral Home.
