It is with profound sorrow, yet a deep sense of love and gratitude for her remarkable life, that we announce the passing of Azure Merinne Hippe, also known as Azure Merinne Stevens. Azure, born on September 21, 1988, in Glendora, California, was an adventurous spirit with a courageous heart, always seeking the next mountain to climb, the next problem to solve, and the next opportunity to create something beautiful. Azure’s life was fundamentally intertwined with her love for creation and nature. She was a compassionate soul, a creative whizz, and a master problem-solver. Her love for patterns and designs started at a tender age. By the time she was two, she was painting vividly, and by three, she was crafting intricate mandalas. Azure's life was a testament to her creative prowess, whether designing nail art, crafting jewelry, or creating games. Her adventures took her to Hack-A-Thons, where she reveled in coding and helping others navigate the digital world. Azure embodied the quote by John Muir, "The mountains are calling, and I must go." She was an avid scuba diver, a volunteer at the Audubon Wildlife Care Center, and a nature explorer who adored camping, hiking, and road trips. Azure's love for animals was deep and pure; she cherished her pets and was always thrilled to care for them. Azure's courage and adventurous spirit were matched only by her compassion. She loved to celebrate others' accomplishments, always encouraging everyone around her to pursue their passions. Azure's culinary skills were second to none, and she took delight in cooking for her family and creating healthier versions of their favorite dishes. She was not one to compete but rather participated in dance, soccer, basketball, and swimming for the sheer joy of it. Azure's compassionate heart, adventurous spirit, and creative mind left a profound impact on everyone she encountered. Azure leaves behind a legacy of love and creativity. She spent most of her vibrant life in Portland, Oregon, and her last years in Tigard, Oregon. And Azure was indeed a testament to this, living a life filled with creativity, compassion, and courage. Azure is survived by her mother, Heather Stevens; her younger sister, Veronica Wolff; her step-fathers, Garth Olson and Steve Salmon, and her extended family including her aunts Wendy Conarro, Mary Evans, Katie Behan; her uncles John Bower, JJ Stevens; and her grandmothers Diana Bower and Micki Stevens.
