Julia “Annette” Pearson Wright, 88, of Carrollton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 17, 2025. She was born on June 8, 1936, in Jonesboro, Georgia, to the late Henry Pearson and Leile Roberts Pearson.
Above all, Annette had a deep and abiding love for Jesus, which was evident in her daily life. She often spent peaceful hours immersed in her Bible, seeking wisdom and inspiration, while also enjoying uplifting music from Joy FM.
As a devoted wife to James Trenace “J.T.” Wright for an incredible 60 years, Annette created a warm and loving home for her family. She was a nurturing mother and a cherished grandmother who delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, sharing stories, and creating lasting memories.
Annette had a deep passion for volunteering and dedicated much of her time to serving her community. Throughout the 1980s and 1990s, she took on the rewarding challenge of teaching illiterate adults to read and write in Pomona, California, where she provided invaluable support and guidance to her students, helping them build confidence and improve their lives through literacy. In addition to her work as an educator, she also volunteered at Tanner Hospital, where she assisted patients and staff alike, embodying her commitment to positively impacting the lives of those around her. Her selfless contributions left a lasting impression on the community she cherished.
In her earlier years, Annette loved golf, where she showcased her skill with an impressive four-iron swing that often left her friends in awe. All who knew her will fondly remember her vibrant spirit and unwavering faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, J.T. Wright, and her brother, Elliott Pearson, who passed away at the age of four.
She is survived by her sons, Jerry Wright and Jim Wright; her grandchildren, Cheyenna Wright, Kierra Wright, Baron Wright, and Ellyana Wright; and her great-granddaughter, Scarlette Mae Pacheco.
A funeral service to honor and celebrate Annette’s life will be held on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the Chapel of Martin & Hightower Funeral Home. Friends may pay their respects on Thursday from 11:00 AM until the start of the service.
