Alvin Dale "Head" Friel Obituary (1957

Alvin Dale “Head” Friel, 67, of Jackson, husband of Druanne Schoenfeld Friel, died Sunday, May 4, 2025, at his home. Born in South Pittsburg, TN, December 22, 1957, he was a son of the late Charles Mitchell and Bessie Pearl Case Friel. Mr. Friel was retired after over thirty years of service from Commercial Construction, working for MDE Contracting. He loved fishing and playing pool and especially loved going every morning to Kelly’s Bait & Tackle, having coffee with friends. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He was kind and was the kind of person who would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. His greatest love in life was his family and he will be forever missed. Mr. Friel was preceded in death by siblings, Theresa Rose, Joel Friel, Eula Roberson, David Friel and Ricky Friel. Surviving in addition to his wife of forty-six years are his only daughter, Melissa Russell and husband, Jack of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren, Daryl Keith Neal III of Macon and Brandon Kelvin Neal and wife, Alayna of Forsyth; and their father, Daryl Keith Neal Jr. of Macon; beloved companion, Outlaw; sisters, Brenda Moody of Stockbridge and Vicky Asher and husband, Marvin of London, KY; brothers, Geary Friel and wife Rebecca of Gainesville and Granville Friel of Stockbridge; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. At Mr. Friel’s request no formal services are planned.
